Kari Laurent

Vice President of Development

Kari Laurent, serving as Vice President of Development for LaPour, is a dynamic force in the field of commercial real estate development. A graduate from the University of Nevada Las Vegas-Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies, Kari has dedicated over 15 years to refining her skills and practice in commercial development, particularly in the Industrial, Office, and Hospitality sectors.

With a focus on the firm’s ground-up development activities, she skillfully manages multiple projects simultaneously, showcasing her remarkable resourcefulness and adaptability. One of her most notable achievements is the Camelback Collective Project in Phoenix, AZ. In this project, Kari adeptly navigated a challenging 18 month long entitlement process for a select serve Marriott hotel and Class A office building in a high-barrier submarket, successfully completing the project on time and within budget. This project not only met but surpassed expectations, setting new market records in performance metrics and asset dispositions. Her expertise is reflected in her oversight of over $350 million in completed project capitalization. Kari’s leadership style is characterized by her ability to listen, assess, and create win-win strategies. She fosters respect and builds lasting relationships within her team through her innovative thinking and effective communication. To date, she has developed over 2 million square feet in Nevada, Arizona, and California, a testament to her adaptability and inventive approach to complex challenges.

Prior to joining LaPour, Kari gained valuable experience in sales and marketing at MGM Resorts International Project City Center. A believer that knowledge is power and continued personal growth, she completed Harvard University Graduate School of Design’s Integrated Project Management course in 2020 and was a graduate of NAIOP Southern Nevada’s 2023 Developing Organization Leadership Institute. Kari is passionate about sharing her experience and providing support for the next generation of Commercial Real Estate professionals. She frequently mentors and sits on panels as a guest speaker at her alma mater, University of Nevada Las Vegas-Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies and is a mentor for young women in the CREW Las Vegas EMPOWR Program.  

Outside of her professional world, Kari’s personal interests offer a glimpse into her character. Her love for the classic film “White Christmas” mirrors her eternal optimism and penchant for seasonal crooning. Just like Lionel Sternberger, the innovator behind the cheeseburger (her favorite food), Kari brings a unique and inventive perspective to every project she undertakes.

Jeff LaPour

CEO/President

Jeffrey S. LaPour is founder and President of LaPour Partners, a commercial real estate and hospitality development firm, active in the western US. Over the past 25 years, he has led development ventures as a principal on over 7M SF of office, industrial, and hospitality space. The firm has a specific focus, and successful history on complicated transactions.

LaPour began his career at Hilton Hotels, followed by a tenure in commercial brokerage before launching the development firm. Mr. LaPour studied Liberal Arts at the University of Nebraska, serves on the Board of Directors of NAIOP Southern Nevada and is a member of Urban Land Institute (ULI).

Lisa Chasteen

Vice President of Leasing and Asset Management

Lisa Chasteen joined LaPour in 2002 as LaPour’s 1st team member.  As Vice President of Asset Management and Leasing at LaPour, Lisa is responsible for all aspects of the marketing, operations and occupancy of LaPour’s commercial and industrial projects. She also takes a hands-on approach during the development process to ensure each project meets the market demand and serves the end user with the most relevant features. 

Bringing over 20 years of experience and an average lease transaction volume of over $50M per year to this role, Lisa’s industry knowledge and insights on property improvement and leasing strategies enable LaPour to achieve some of the highest occupancy rates in the market. 

Lisa is passionate about the commercial real estate industry and is actively involved in NAIOP (Commercial Real Estate Development Association) and Urban Land Institute (ULI) initiatives, as well as mentorship programs to educate future commercial real estate leaders. 

Matthew Hoyt

Vice President of Finance and Operations

Matthew Hoyt, serves as Vice President of Finance and Operations for LaPour Cos. Matthew is responsible for oversight of the firm’s financial activities as well as placement and procurement of project debt and equity. His experience includes 15 years in commercial mortgage banking where he established relationships with numerous capital sources including Life Companies, Commercial Banks, Investment Banks, Pension Funds, and Institutional Debt Funds for all phases of the development process, land acquisition to construction, through permanent financing. His finance experience encompasses all income producing property types: office, industrial, hotel, retail, multifamily, storage, CTL, and land, among others. Matthew sits on the Board of Directors for NAIOP Southern Nevada Chapter and Chairs its Membership Committee. He also sits on the Advisory Committee for the Lied Center of Real Estate at UNLV and Chairs its Mentorship Program. 

Prior to joining LaPour, Matthew spent 15 years at CommCap Advisors, a Las Vegas based Commercial Mortgage Banking Firm. Matthew holds a BSBA from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a Major in Real Estate.

Kyle Walker

Vice President of Construction

Kyle Walker serves as Vice President of Construction for LaPour. He is responsible for delivering best practices and processes for all phases of construction for our entire development portfolio which includes office, industrial, mixed-use, and hospitality. From project pursuit to completion, Kyle’s primary role is to oversee and manage all parties connected to the construction of a project and all due diligence activities. His experience includes 18 years in pre-construction, purchasing, contract negotiations, value engineering, cost control, logistics planning, risk management, schedule management, and safety.

Prior to joining LaPour, Kyle spent 18 years working with several well-known general contractors in California and Arizona to deliver multiple successful design-build projects including Camelback Collective, a mixed-use hotel and office development in which LaPour was the developer and owner back in 2018.

Kyle holds a BS from California State University, Chico with a Major in Construction Management. He is USGBC LEED accredited and has completed OSHA 30-hour and 10-hour safety certifications
